Where were you when everything was falling apart?

All my days were spent by the telephone.

Never rang- all I needed was a call.

Never came from the corner of First and Amistad 

Lost and Insecure....

Okay yes, I just quoted a song by The Fray.

But isn't it  true of our hearts? How many times do we ask God, where were you? I needed you, just a little of you, where were you?

I actually found myself asking God that a lot lately. I have learned so much recently about grace, forgiveness and his comfort.

But this question still screamed...

Where were you, God? When my whole life felt like it was falling apart? I asked, I looked, I wanted you. Where were you?

"I see you."

"When you were hurting- I saw."

When you were broken- I saw."

When you questioned everything- I saw."

"I was broken, I was hurt. Because I made you, and when you hurt, I hurt."

God was there, my big Daddy in heaven saw me during my lowest points. He held me and broke with me.

Then, he gave me his Son. To love me, to cherish me, to care for me.
